Farewell my Merlin

Farewell my Merlin

My little tabby red wheaten livernose Merlin entered his last great journey. Shortly before his 16th birthday he left our pack. Born into my hands, fell asleep in my arms in the middle of his pack. We all mourn very much for him, his two brothers just like his ridge-bearing family members.
Merlin was always in the middle of it and everybody had the greatest respect of him. He welcomed and adopted us at the door when we went for walks or came back from them. He rubbed his hump against the ridgeback gang and they fondled his fur with their noses. It was cuddled and stood together for treats. Sometimes I had the feeling they were all of the same breed. He taught the A- and the B-Litter that cat hunting has consequences and it is much more pleasant to be able to get along well with them and to coexist in harmony.
When Brix, Merlin's special friend, dicided that the day of dying had come, Merlin layed down to him and did not leave him, stayed with him until Brix no longer lived. The thougt that the two are reunited is good and yet it hurts, because they are no longer here with us.
Farewell my Merlin ♥
